A Creative Opportunity with Phoenix Theatre: Direct Our 2026 Pantomime!

Could you be our new director?

Phoenix Theatre is thrilled to announce a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic and imaginative director to join our creative family and take the helm of our 2026 pantomime production.

This is a unique chance for someone with relevant directing experience—whether in amateur dramatics or professional theatre—to step into a well-supported, vibrant environment that champions community, creativity, and a good dose of theatrical magic. Phoenix Theatre has delighted audiences in recent years with our acclaimed pantomimes, Cinderella and Dick Whittington, and we’re eager to continue building on that success.

Our much-loved director Dee Jones will be taking her final bow with us this December, directing Robin Hood and the Babes in the Wood. As we look ahead with excitement, we’re now seeking a new director to continue our panto tradition into 2026 and beyond.

Phoenix Theatre is an amateur dramatic group with charitable status, powered by the passion of our volunteers and performers. While this is an unpaid position, it’s a rewarding role supported by a committed, creative team and a community that truly loves what we do. You’ll be working with a cast of talented actors and a behind-the-scenes crew who bring their all to every performance.

Whether you’re a returning face to the local theatre scene or a new voice looking to make your mark, we’d love to hear from you.
